Our Verdict

Spacious, stormworthy and thoughtfully laid out, the Oppland 2 LW (2.0) is a serious contender for longer journeys where livability matters as much as weight.

At 1,658g (Medium), it’s not the lightest in Nordisk’s line-up, but for the comfort and space, 1.6kg is a remarkably low weight. The oversized porch is the feature that defines this tent. You can fully roll away the front door, creating a surprisingly open, inviting shelter—great for cooking in poor weather, storing bulky gear, or enjoying the view. I can see this being particularly good for bikepackers, dog owners or anyone spending more than a few nights in the same spot (not that you should do that when wild camping).

The three-pole tunnel structure pitches outward first and holds up well in strong winds. The fly is 2,000 mm rated, and the 8,000 mm groundsheet has proven reassuringly tough under pressure. There’s generous headroom, smart pocket placement, and decent ventilation options, including side vents and adjustable panels to help control condensation.
