Our Verdict

I’ve been using the Abisko Softpack 16 isn’t breaking new ground, but it does get a lot right. The recycled 210d polyamide ripstop fabric is impressive without feeling overbuilt, and the PU coating easily shrugs off light rain.

The clamshell-style opening makes it quick to access gear, and the internal laptop sleeve doubles nicely as a hydration bladder—something I appreciate when switching from city errands to hill walks. The external mesh pockets actually fit a water bottle properly—something Fjällräven hasn’t always nailed in the past.

Overall, it’s a solid companion on the hills, but it really shines as a commuter pack.
